Parliamentary Majority Leader Mamuka Mdinaradze denied reports that former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the first president’s son Konstantin Gamsakhurdia are being considered for the post of President of Georgia.

“Irakli Garibashvili would be a good president if he became one, but he will not be, nor are we considering Gamsakhurdia’s candidacy, because the team chose someone else,” – said Mdinaradze.

They are the president of Dream, former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the son of the first president of Georgia, Zviad Gamsakhurdia, Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, who recently headed the National Parliamentary Library.

According to the law, presidential elections must be held within 45 days of the first meeting of the newly elected parliament.
