Drug trafficking network that sold 180 kilos of cocaine a year in Galicia falls

The Civil Guard dismantled a criminal group dedicated to drug trafficking that He sold 180 kilos of cocaine per year in Galiciaas reported this Thursday by the Armed Institute.

The so-called “Operation Claudo” ends with nine arrestedamong which are the suppliers, transporters and final recipients of the medicine. For seven of them have already entered prison provisional.

The group carried out its activity in the area of ​​O Barbanza, in La Coruña, and distributed large quantities of drugs throughout Galicia, until selling 10 kilos of cocaine every 20 days.

To carry the drugs they had vehicles with hidden compartments and large displacement motorcycles. They used as blanket the facilities of a well-known brand of supermarkets located in the Ría de Arousa to carry out the transfer of narcotic substances and thus go unnoticed.

The officers also carried out seven recordings: two in Ribeira (A Coruña), one in A Pobra do Caramiñal (A Coruña), another in Vilagarcia de Arousa (Pontevedra), two in Vilanova de Arousa (Pontevedra) and one in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra).

As a result, they seized 2.5 kilos of cocaine, two kilos of marijuana and five kilos of boric acid -a substance used to adulterate cocaine- as well as various means of preparation and distribution of narcotics. They also intervened 123,000 euros cash and several cars and motorcycles used to transport drugs.
