Edmundo González was “forced, blackmailed and pressured” during “very tense hours” at the residence of the Spanish ambassador in Caracas. This was denounced by the leader of the Venezuelan democratic opposition, in a video statement broadcast this Wednesday afternoon, from Madrid. The recording was made after the regime of Nicolas Maduro spread the existence of a document signed by him “respecting” the result announced by Chavismo.
It was Delcy Rodríguez, vice-president of the Republic and sanctioned by the European Union, and Jorge Rodríguez, her brother and president of the so-called National Assembly appointed by the regime, who entered the residence of Ambassador Ramón Santos. González Urrutia had been taking refuge there for a few days, after spending more than a month under the shelter of the Dutch embassy.
And it was there, in the Spanish sovereign facilities of Caracas, that he was forced to do so, according to his account.
