The Ministry of Education, Culture, Universities and Employment has published on its website the structures of exam of the 33 topics of the University Access Test (PAU) of the Valencian Community.
Last week, the specialists responsible for designing the University Entrance Test exams presented the exam structures and evaluation criteria to the Baccalaureate teachers of the Valencian Community.
The main novelty for the PAU for the academic year 2024-2025 it is that disappear THE maximum optionality agreed at the Covid-19 stage, and thus returns to the pre-2020 model.
Each subject will have a unique exercise model that will be structured into different sections based on the knowledge established in the different programs. In some sections, the ability to choose between multiple questions or tasks may be included. This choice cannot in any way imply a reduction in the number of specific skills subject to evaluation.
One of the new features of this course is that in the access phase (mandatory) you can choose he foreign language which will be examined, whatever the subject taken in the 2nd year of the Baccalaureate, being able to choose a second foreign language during the (voluntary) admission phase.
In addition, exams corresponding to general baccalaureate subjects are introduced in the access phase, and in the voluntary phase, students will be able to take exams in up to 3 subjects, in addition to the additional foreign language.
All compulsory phase subject exams will take place in the morning from 9:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., the rest of the exercises will take place in the afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
Finally, it should be noted that this year general correction criteria are established in which the expressive ability and the linguistic correction of students, weighing the correction spelling and coherence, cohesion, grammatical correction and lexical in the response given in each exercise.
The maximum overall deduction each year will be one point in all subjects, except in Spanish Language and Literature II, Valencia: Language and Literature II, in which the maximum overall deduction each year will be two points, as well as in foreign subjects . Language II subjects, which apply their own criteria.
Please note that the subject program has not changed this year and remains exactly the same as in previous calls. Regarding the structure of the exams, generally speaking, the vast majority of exam models have a structure similar to that of the previous course, although, due to the requirements of the national regulations themselves, the optional character, as we have already pointed out, is minor.
Among the subjects that introduced the most significant changes, the case stands out Spanish language And Literature II which now has three blocks instead of two, as in previous editions, distributed as follows: Written communication (/0-4 points), Knowledge of the language (0-3 points) and Literary education (0-3 points) .
Likewise, in History of the Philosophy The test now has three sections in which the student must comment on a text (4 points), define a concept (2 points), in addition to preparing an essay (4 points) on several proposed options.
Likewise, in a foreign language English The test was structured into two sections, one for comprehension (7 points) and another for expression (3 points). This same model was also used for the subject of French. Latin It also presents some specific changes, giving more weight in the rating to the translation of the proposed text compared to the rest of the questions asked.
With regard to subjects in the field of science, practically no change is observed and in Chemistry It’s now five questions with various optional options in each one.
