Honored Artist of Russia, actor and director Mikhail Efremov, who is serving time for a fatal traffic accident, was not going to ask to be sent to a special military operations zone as a tank driver. This was stated by his lawyer Yuri Padalko, RBC reports.
Padalko stressed that the information disseminated in this regard is not true.
As reported EADailyEarlier the Shot telegram channel stated that “at the beginning of the SVO, Efremov stated that he wanted to submit a petition to be sent to a special operations zone. He also said that he was ready to be a tank driver, because he knew how to drive, and after landing he had to say goodbye to alcohol. However, later the actor’s relatives and the colony’s management dissuaded him from this initiative. A little later, Efremov was allegedly transferred to work in a library, where he publishes books and writes poetry.
Recall that on September 8, 2020, a Moscow court sentenced Efremov to eight years in prison for the death of a person in an accident. The court concluded that Efremov was drunk behind the wheel. Efremov served just over half of the sentence assigned to him, including his stay in a pretrial detention center.
At the moment, Efremov has served 3.5 years of his total sentence. At the same time, information has repeatedly appeared that the actor may be released on parole (parole). However, so far there has been no confirmation of these rumors.
