The current detention period of Abzas media director Ülvi Hasanli and deputy director Sevinj Vagifgızi has ended.
According to Qafqazinfo, the 10-month period was not enough to complete the investigation into such a large-scale case.
First Deputy Prosecutor General Elchin Mammadov has asked the court for permission to extend the investigation. In the petition submitted to the Khatai District Court, he requests to increase the type of preventive measure by 3 months without changing it.
The on-call judge is expected to announce the decision in the coming hours.
It should be noted that the defendants in the “Abzas media” case are accused of smuggling, tax evasion, money laundering and other crimes.
