The Civil Guard is investigating eleven people for participating in a vehicle skidding competition held this summer in the urban area of Castroverde, in the province of Lugo. The concentration aimed to “bring together fans of sports tuning vehicles, motorcycles and off-road vehicles,” according to Europa Press.
After the incident, he added, the perpetrators posted several videos on social media showing “the reckless driving of the drivers present, where they skidded and burned their wheels.”
Likewise, he points out that in these trips “sometimes the passenger travels with the door open, taking the body outside, with danger to his physical integrity and the safety of traffic and that of the assistants.”
La Benemérita also explains that in the videos it is observed how, during a skid, there are “many pedestrians near the vehicle, in an area of free access on foot, without barriers or security measures.”

After seeing the images, the Civil Guard opened an investigation to determine the day, time, place and license plate of the vehicles used, the identity of the drivers and the people promoting the event.
Eventually, the officers managed to identify three private cars and a quad bike with their drivers, as well as two people as organizers of the rally and five others as collaborators.
The eleven people, drivers, organizers or collaborators, are being investigated as alleged perpetrators of a crime against road safety. The police procedures have been made available to the Court of First Instance and Instruction of the Guard of Lugo.
