A plane from Fuerteventura to Glasgow had to make an emergency landing in the Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport because it was detected smoking in the cabin while off the coast of Galicia.
On board they traveled 170 passengers and six crew members, with no injuries reported. According to 112 Galicia, Compostela airport staff questioned the emergency center about the conditions 7:15 p.m. the collaboration of health personnel and firefighters.
The reason was that a plane with smoke in the cabin was about to make an emergency landing at the Compostela site. However, the same airport staff immediately confirmed that the plane was able to land safely and that no one was injured.
The 112 operators informed the firefighters, regional, national and local police, as well as Santiago Civil Protection volunteers. The Search and Rescue Service (SAR) of the Air and Space Force was also notified, in case its intervention was necessary.
Once the plane landed, it was escorted by firefighters to the parking lot.
