Serbian director and musician Emir Kusturica will obtain Russian citizenship. In an interview with the Moscow-24 television channel, he said that he already considers himself Russian.
When asked by a television channel correspondent if Kusturica would like to obtain Russian citizenship despite already having Serbian and French citizenship, the director replied:
“I will receive Russian citizenship. But I’m already Russian. We will see what the Russian passport is for when I make films.”
He regretted that Russia and Serbia cooperate very little with each other in the field of culture.
