On the eve of the athletes’ parade organized in Paris for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, Emmanuel Macron announced, in an interview given on Friday, September 13, Parisianhis desire to establish, like the Fête de la Musique, a national sporting festival every year on 14 September.
“We must unite around a popular sports festival, which takes place in the streets, in schools and in sports complexes. In our cities, our towns, our neighborhoods”announces daily. “ “I want French people all over the world to enjoy their sport through events and competitions, both for young and old. This will allow us to restart daily sporting activities in preparation for the start of the school year.”explains.
The Head of State also supports the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, criticised for having announced that the Olympic rings would remain on the Eiffel Tower. “It was good that I didn’t take them off right away, I was right”believes in, and also advocates for, the maintenance of the Olympic cauldron. “My hope is that we can preserve it for as long as possible, taking into account the technical elements.
