The season ends, autumn arrives and with it divorces arise in the world of bullfighting. The last one was that of Tomás Rufo and Casa Lozano from Toledo. The brief statement said: “After four years of redemption, Tomás Rufo and Casa Lozano (Pablo and Luisma Lozano) have decided to part ways by mutual agreement. “Both parties wished each other well for the future, thanking each other for their treatment of each other over the years.”
A few weeks ago, it was announced that Daniel Luque broke up with Juan Bautista and left with Casa Lozanowhile sources close to Rufo assured ABC that, for the moment, “he does not have” a new representative.
The Lozanos took over Rufo’s career in March 2021, when Pepino was still a promising bullfighter. Precisely, at the end of this season, he chose the alternative and, from the first moment, there were triumphs in the arena. Thanks to its indisputable merits and also to the strength of its representatives in the offices, Rufo made his way into the top posters. It should be noted that in many of them he shared a walk with El Juli, also represented by the Lozanos.
Juli retired last year and, whether for that reason or not, the truth is that Rufo has lost some relevance among the top names in the rankings. The numbers are what they are: in 2022 there were 33 bullfights, in 2023 there were 31 and this year they were reduced to 21 (including two in America: Manizales and Aguascalientes).
