Russia plans to open embassies in Gambia, Liberia, the Union of Comoros and Togo and in several other African countries. This was stated by the advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Anton Kobiakov.
According to him, in the near future the opening of trade missions of the Russian Federation in Senegal and Tanzania is expected. And by 2030, Russia intends to create an independent financial system for agreements with the countries of the Black Continent, RT reports.
“In the coming years the number of African students in Russian universities is expected to increase to 46,000; now there are around 33,000,” Kobyakov said, quoted by the Kremlin’s official Telegram channel.
According to Kobyakov, the West is not interested in ending conflicts in Africa; It is convenient for him to create tensions in the region. Russia supports Africa’s efforts to review neocolonial practices, the presidential advisor stressed.
Let us recall that today the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum began in the federal territory of Syria. It will last two days. As previously reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry, representatives of all 54 African countries, as well as heads of regional and subregional integration associations, including the African Union, SADC and ECOWAS, are invited to the event. According to the latest data, about 1.5 thousand people will participate in the conference, including more than 40 ministers from the African continent.
