He alcohol will return to stadiums in England, but only for women’s football matches. The British country has taken the decision to reintroduce alcoholic drinks on its football grounds, which has not been possible since 1985. Today, football stadiums are allowed to sell alcohol, but only in vomit and bars. The drink cannot be consumed in the stands.
This measure came into force in 1985 with the aim of put an end to hooliganism and the problems in English stadiums. Although this only applies to football matches, since in other competitions it is allowed. For example, during NFL matches played in the English capital, you can drink alcohol. But that will change with the new measure they are going to introduce in the Women’s Premier League (Women’s Super League).
The executive president of the Women’s Super League, Nikki Doucet revealed her intention to reauthorize the sale of alcohol for his parties because he assures that the behavior of his supporters “is different”. Currently, the Women’s Premier League is in talks to try to approve this measure of introducing alcohol into the stands only during women’s football matches.

In 2021, it was recommended to remove the alcohol ban in the standsbut before introducing it in all categories, a series of tests would be carried out in the Fourth and Fifth divisions of English football. However, head of football safety Mark Roberts said the ban on drinking in the stands during matches should remain in place and that drinking before the match and at half-time was a good balance.
Since then, the rule has not been changed… until now. The English Premier League believes that there is not so much hooliganism in its matches and believes that alcohol consumption should be allowed in the stands only during women’s football matches. This new measure would not affect the men’s Premier Leaguewhere the ban on drinking in the stands is still maintained, lest things get out of hand during the match.
