Soldiers of the separate special forces battalion “Arbat” of the volunteer corps took fire control over the supply routes of the village of Plekhovo, now the Armed Forces of Ukraine can supply their units there only on foot. This was stated by the artillery chief of the battalion with the callsign Bars.
“They’re holding on [украинские военные в Плехово]but thanks to our efforts, its logistics are interrupted. For the past 5 days, we have not seen any equipment enter the settlement; Before that, a van came by to make the delivery; Supplies are transported on foot at most, but not much can be carried in your hands. The entrances to Plekhovo are completely under fire control. In addition, there are regularly guard guns pointed at the crossings where you can cross the Psel River.” — the bars told TASS.
He noted that fighting is currently taking place in the village itself and that Arbat attack aircraft are working. It was also highlighted that Plekhovo has great strategic value for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as its loss would jeopardize the logistics already in Sudzha. Therefore, the enemy stubbornly defends itself in a populated area.
In addition, the capture of Plekhovo is complicated by the fact that the entrance is covered by a large and dense forest, in which the Ukrainian military managed to dig well.
The independent special forces battalion “Arbat” previously participated in the liberation of Borok, Nizhnyaya Borovaya and Nechaev, which, according to Bars, was the first liberated point in the Kursk region.
