More than two years after the statements of the Parisian deputy Sandrine Rousseau in the filming of “C à vous” on France 5, the Julien Bayou affair, named after the former Parisian parliamentarian and national secretary of Europe-Ecology, the Greens ( EELV, now Les Ecologistes), accused of psychological violence against his ex-partner, Anaïs Leleux, continues to poison the life of the party. The conclusions of the Pisa law firm specialized in sexist and sexual violence, presented in October to the executive leadership of the movement, are far from having calmed the situation.
In a press release published on October 25 and summarizing the cabinet’s work, Les Ecologistes wrote: «The investigation has not made it possible to determine whether acts contrary to legal norms or internal texts have been committed, or that may characterize the crime of abstention from assistance to a person in danger accused by the Les Ecologistes association »leaving everyone hungry. Since then, supporters of the former Génération précaire activist have demanded a clearer exoneration. On the contrary, feminists question the work of the cabinet, whose reinstatement had been laconic.
At the origin of the controversy, the Pisan report, of which no one seems to have had a written copy in their hands and which, according to an internal source of the organization, could be summarized as “a set of interviews” made by the cabinet, which made an oral presentation to the executive office. The mystery surrounding this work fuels the suspicions of Anaïs Leleux and some feminists. Julien Bayou’s former partner believes in particular that exonerating the former deputy amounts to “to make it clear that our word is worthless and that we have not brought any money. “He spits in our faces.”he wrote on his Instagram account.
Confidentiality agreements
“With a certain number of feminists we believe that it is not clear, because we have information from witnesses. But, for the moment, there is a refusal to communicate this file.”Rachel Savin-Puget, former candidate for the European elections of June 9, corroborates Marie Toussaint’s list. Before her, Sandrine Rousseau had even questioned the seriousness of the investigation, evoking “a really very strong climate of intimidation that perhaps did not allow the disclosure of certain testimonies”.
The mystery is all the thicker because even environmentalists informed of the content of the work are prohibited from speaking. Firstly, because the Pisa cabinet made them sign confidentiality agreements to protect witnesses. Then, because the management of Ecologistas is paralyzed by two complaints, which grip the organization; the first filed by Anaïs Leleux for “not assisting a person in danger,” as her lawyer, My-Kim Yang-Paya, recalls; the second for “harassment”, presented by Julien Bayou’s lawyer, Marie Dosé. Therefore, the party remained silent.
