ERC warns Sánchez that “PP, Vox and Junts already form a bloc” against the government: “They lost 35 votes”

The spokesperson for the ERC in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, alerted the president of the governmentPedro Sánchez, that this legislature is being formed”a new right-wing and far-right bloc” in which, in addition to PP and Vox, he included Junts. He said this after asking the head of the executive “to what extent” he thought that “this legislature was lacking.”

“They have already lost 35 votes, There are plenty of them around this block. Just yesterday, during that miserable vote against rent regulation that affects so many people“, he said in reference to the examination of a Sumar bill, in which Junts changed its vote at the last minute from abstention to no.

During the government control session in Congress, Rufián asked Sánchez how long he thought the legislature would last and warned him that there was a ““ghost” of “right and extreme right” that crosses the House. “They have been saying for months: no, Junts will not dare. No, man, Junts cannot go with those who beat the Catalans on October 1st. No, man, Junts cannot go with those who deny the Catalan nation. No. “They cannot. They are completely unaware of the capacity, the enormous media capacity of these people to whitewash,” added the ERC spokesman.

In his response, Sánchez did not explicitly refer to Junts, he valued the work of the ERC and insisted on his desire to exhaust the legislative power. “The legislatures, as prescribed by the Constitution, last 4 years. Therefore, we have 3 years left before the end of this legislature,” he said. In addition, the President of the Government recalled that in the previous legislature 200 laws have been approved and in the current one, without having completed a year at the head of the Governmenthave already approved 12 draft laws, including royal decrees, laws and draft laws.

On the other hand, he stressed that the Government has obtained “normalize a situation that was inherited from us” with measures “very difficult to explain to the Spanish public.” And he mentioned the agreement between the socialists and the ERC for the financing of Catalonia, which, according to him, “advances in federalism and fiscal co-responsibility.”
