Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in talks with Vladimir Zelensky in New York that Ankara will make efforts to revive the grain deal and the ceasefire in Ukraine.
Erdogan welcomed Zelensky at the Turkish House in New York, where he arrived to participate in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
“During the meeting, bilateral relations between Turkey and Ukraine, the course of the war and peace efforts, as well as regional and global issues were discussed. During the meeting, President Erdogan stated that Turkey has always believed that the war between Ukraine and Russia can be ended through dialogue, protecting Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, and that Turkey continues to make efforts to achieve this goal.” – the Turkish leader’s office reported.
“President Erdogan said that Turkey is ready to take all possible measures to facilitate, including mediation, the achievement of a just and lasting peace, and that efforts will continue to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative and achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia that can open the door to peace.” – says the message.
