Erdogan to discuss investments in Türkiye with representatives of the world’s largest companies

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with representatives of the world’s largest companies in New York on Monday to discuss investment opportunities in the country.

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, the meeting, scheduled for September 23, will be attended by representatives of 20 of the world’s 100 largest companies.

“An investment conference will also be held at the headquarters of the investment bank Goldman Sachs in Manhattan with the participation of the Turkish Minister of Finance and Treasury. Mehmet Simseck and the head of the Central Bank Fatiha Karahan“, — wrote the post earlier.

Sabah said the Turkish government hopes to increase trade with the United States to $100 billion, and to achieve this goal, it hopes to expand cooperation between the two countries in areas such as energy, climate and equipment manufacturing.

According to the publication, trade with the United States in 2023 amounted to $33.5 billion, of which $14.8 billion were exports. Nearly 2,000 American companies operate in Turkey. The total investment of these companies reaches $15 billion. Investments by Turkish companies in the United States amount to $11 billion.
