PSOE-A leader refuses to call ERC agreement a concert: “If we start talking about what it’s called, we surely won’t solve it”
The leader of the Andalusian socialists and spokesman for the PSOE in the Senate, Juan Espadas, has once again affirmed the “different singularities” of each autonomous community in the face of the reform of regional financing, while avoiding defining the singular financing of Catalonia as an economic concert.
“If we start talking about his name, we will surely not solve the problem,” Espadas said in statements to journalists upon his arrival at the PSOE executive meeting, when asked about his name. if he defined the agreement with ERC as an economic agreement.
In any case, the leader of the Andalusian socialists said that now was “the phase” of specifying the content of this agreement so that Catalonia ceases to belong to the common financing regime and start collecting one hundred percent of taxes.
Likewise, Espadas has chosen to “seek a good financing agreement for all territories”, taking into account the singularities of each autonomous community in this matter and has appealed to “don’t buy the PP story”.
Regarding the decision of the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, to advance the PSOE federal congress, Espadas said he thought it was “a wonderful decision,” although he clarified he didn’t officially know he was going to move forward.
