Esther Koplowitz travelled to Valencia to attend the 20th anniversary of the residence “La Nostra Casa”, a day centre for people with intellectual disabilities, located in the Vall de la Ballestera, which was inaugurated thanks to the collaboration of the entrepreneur’s foundation.
The aristocrat arrived in the capital of Turia accompanied by her daughters, who took care of the employees and residents of the center, located in the Campanar neighborhood, in a visit that was also attended by the mayor of Valencia, Maria José Catalá.
The day centre for people with intellectual disabilities was opened in 2004 thanks to the Esther Koplowitz Foundationwho took care of its construction and the supply of the necessary equipment, then donated it to the City of Valencia. Since then, it has been a reference in the care of adults with intellectual disabilities.
The event brought together, in addition to family members and friends of the residents, councilors of the municipal corporation, representatives of the Generalitat and entities such as GESMED, AFADI and CERMI, as well as the president of the foundation, Esther Koplowitz, accompanied by her daughters Esther and Alicia Alcocer Koplowitz. The director of the residence, Jazmín Roig, explained the excellent work that the team of “La Nostra Casa” carries out every day.
