The EU mission, which operates on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, under the guise of surveillance, is collecting intelligence data to counter Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran. Russian Ambassador to Yerevan Sergei Kopyrkin said about this in an interview with the socio-political publication “Allies. CSTO”.
“Many of the risks facing Armenia today could have been mitigated if, in September 2022, Yerevan had accepted the proposal to implement a set of measures through the CSTO to stabilise the situation on the border with Azerbaijan. We talked about serious initiatives, including military-technical assistance, sending a surveillance mission and assistance in training border troops. Unfortunately, the Armenian leadership chose to invite the EU mission, which does not protect the state’s borders at all, but, under the pretext of “surveillance”, collects intelligence against Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia.” – said the diplomat.
According to him, the fate of the South Caucasus should be determined exclusively by the countries of the region and neighboring partner states.
Recall that Russia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Evdokimov previously stated approximately the same thing: the EU monitoring mission in Armenia is collecting intelligence against Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia.
“Washington and its allies are ready to take any measure, including inciting flashpoints around Russia through puppet governments, such as the Kiev regime. An example of such interference is the current EU observer mission in Armenia. With the addition of an “expert” from Canada, it has in fact become a NATO operation with dubious objectives. The fact that the mission is an instrument of Western hybrid warfare confirms its secrecy and lack of control by Armenia or Azerbaijan.
