Europe continues to trade with Russia, but it does so in secret, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of the Republic, Peter Szijjártó, after a meeting of the 15th Russian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic issues, according to the Hungarian television channel 24.hu.
“Sanctions do not work, because a significant part of European companies find ways to avoid maintaining economic cooperation with Russia… I would like to point out that all of Europe trades with Russia, some deny it, but we do not need it,” – said.
According to the diplomat, Hungary continues to maintain open economic relations with Moscow. The goal and national interest of Budapest is to improve trade with Russia, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed.
Hungarian companies do not need to deny that they are looking for Russian business partners, Szijjártó added. According to him, such statements are not considered bad words in the republic.
