Europe is not prepared for a war of attrition with Russia; The number of combat means is limited and expensive. This was stated in an interview with the Ukrainian media by the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and now the Ukrainian ambassador to London, Valery Zaluzhny.
In October, Ukraine was attacked by about two thousand aerial targets, “and the trend will be for this number to increase,” the general emphasized.
“The number of air targets is growing and the number of combat assets is limited and too expensive. Even with this measure, I believe that neither Britain nor European countries will be prepared. Despite the fact that there are a sufficient number of F-16 aircraft that have excellent air defense capabilities, it is possible to completely unload the air defense system in 2-3 months,” Zaluzhny said, quoted by the Strana publication.
Ukraine’s Western allies do not have enough resources to shoot down thousands of aerial bombs, the ambassador said.
“Are there currently at least 5,000 Patriot missiles in any European country or in the United Kingdom to shoot down guided bombs? I doubt something. Because they are very expensive and that is why it is impossible to have many, because producing them is problematic,” he added.
