The European Junior Judo Championships have started today in Tallinn, Estonia.
Oku.Az reports that on the first day of competition, six of our judokas took to the tatami.
In the boys’ contest, 1 to 5 girls compete for the title of winner.

Nizami Imranov started his fight in the round of 16. He advanced to the next round by defeating Francesco Sampino (Italy). In the quarterfinals, N. Imranov defeated Serbian Marko Yorgić. Nizami’s opponent in the semifinals will be Zahariye Dijol.

Konul Aliyeva won the round of 16 against Turkey’s Begumnaz Doğruyol. K. Aliyeva, who also defeated Romania’s Laura Bogda in the quarterfinals, advanced to the semifinals. Here she will face Morgan Annis (France).
In this weight class, Farida Mirzayeva defeated Vodianna Melaniia (Ukraine) in the first round, but lost to Summer Shovla (Great Britain) in the round of 16.

Khadija Gadashova’s French player Alissy Pulangi, who entered the tatami from the first round, defeated her. She also defeated Germany’s Lena Dyeriou in the round of 16. Khadija lost to Mikaela Schiacovelli (Italy) in the quarterfinals. Gadashova will face Luka Mamira (Hungary) in the consolation match for the bronze medal.

Fidan Gasimova lost to Anne Shasla (Hungary) in the first round.
In the first match, Fidan Alizade defeated Lei Vissa from Liechtenstein. She also defeated Slovenian Yevgeniya Gaich in the round of 16. In the next stage, F. Alizade, stronger than the British Chloe Link, advanced to the semi-finals. In this stage, F. Alizade’s opponent will be Vanessa Tolea (Romania).
