Evacuated residents from the north visit the United States

On September 18, a delegation of evacuated residents of the Galilee, organized at the initiative of former Israeli ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, arrived in Washington to meet with members of the US Senate and Congress.

The purpose of the visit is to brief US lawmakers on the plight of northern Israel and the difficulties faced by tens of thousands of residents evacuated from their homes due to the outbreak of hostilities.

Republican Congressman Lindsey Graham told Israelis: “We fully support you and will provide you with everything you need to continue your just struggle.”

As part of the visit, the delegation will also participate in an event organized by the American Jewish Committee. In addition, the Israelis will meet with diplomats from the United Arab Emirates, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Japan, as well as representatives of the US State Department.

“The American public and American decision-makers are not very familiar with what is happening on Israel’s northern border, so I decided to bring a delegation of evacuees from the north to Washington to explain the situation firsthand and to highlight to members of Congress and the international media the high price they are paying due to Hezbollah’s incessant bombings. We must increase our international legitimacy today before Israel launches a major campaign in Lebanon, and I hope this delegation will help with that,” said former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren.
