According to him, the “Scandinavian” tread pattern has a number of advantages for use in harsh winter conditions.
“The main requirement for winter tires is to provide the best grip on snowy and icy roads, and the “Christmas tree” pattern successfully fulfills this task. First of all, the wide channels, as well as the configuration of the pattern, eliminate effectively removes snow and snow mixture from the point of contact of the tire with the road. Secondly, “the Scandinavian structure of the rubber in the pattern improves grip, acceleration and braking on slippery surfaces,” explained the expert.
