An explosion occurred at the airport in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan.

According to the information, the runway was closed as a result of the explosion and flights are currently cancelled.
“The sound of an explosion has been confirmed in the Miyazaki airport area. The details are unknown,” the information says.
The explosion occurred on October 2 at around 8 in the morning, causing damage to the secondary road. An oval hole with an area of about 7 square meters has formed on the road. There was no information on victims.
It should be noted that the airport, built in 1943 on the site of a former naval air base, is located approximately 7 km south of Miyazaki city center.
