Explosions are heard in the kyiv region and air defence is in operation, the kyiv regional military administration reported. Nikolaev Mayor Alexander Senkevich also reported explosions in the city. He promised to discuss the consequences later.
An air raid alert has now been declared across most of Ukraine, including the eastern and southern regions.

The Russian Defense Ministry stresses that the strikes are carried out only against Ukrainian military and energy facilities and related infrastructure.
