According to data published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business and collected by Europa Press, the trade balance of Castilla y León shows a surplus of 2,233.0 million euros, compared to 1,228.1 million in the same period of the previous year.
This is the second best figure in the evolution of cumulative exports until August, after the Canary Islands, where they increased by 20.1 percent.
The increase between January and August is due to the automotive sector, which grew by 43.8 percent up to 4,862.9 million, followed by the non-chemical semi-manufactured goods sector (8.7 percent to 2,313.1 million) and food, beverages and tobacco, with 4.1 percent of more at 2,196.0 million.
For their part, imports experienced the main increase in the non-chemical semi-manufactured products sector (8.4 percent to 1,085.7 million), followed by the automobile sector (4.1 percent to 2,708.5 million). and food, beverages and tobacco (1.2 percent to 1,237.1 million). .
These data leave a positive balance in the three sectors: automobile (2,154.4 million), non-chemical semi-finished products (1,227.3 million) and food, beverages and tobacco (958.9 million).
In August, Exports increased by 70.0 percent up to 1,752.0 million euros, the best development in the country where they increased by 2.5 percent, and imports increased by 15.0 percent to 882.2 euros, again better data than the average which increased by 3.2 percent.
