There are few violations during the single voting day in Russia, despite the fact that the elections are taking place in an extraordinary situation, said the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova.
According to him, the number of complaints about certain violations has decreased significantly, but the number of incidents involving party representatives has increased. More than 60 such cases have been processed, with the majority of confirmed incidents occurring in the Sevastopol, Pskov and Samara regions.
“The number of complaints about actual violations and against those conducting elections has decreased dramatically,” – Pamfilova said on September 8 at a briefing at the CEC information center.
From 6 to 8 September, residents of 83 Russian regions will vote in elections at various levels. Governors are elected in 21 regions, deputies of legislative assemblies in 13 regions, and deputies of the State Duma in three regions. Municipal deputies are elected in 21 regional capitals, and mayoral elections are held in Abakan and Anadyr. In total, there are about 4,000 campaigns underway in the country to fill more than 35,000 parliamentary mandates and seats.
