Extraordinary parliamentary elections are being held in Azerbaijan today

By-elections are being held in Azerbaijan today.

Oku.Az reports that 990 candidates are competing in the elections for 125 deputy mandates.

The percentage distribution of candidates competing in the electoral marathon by age group is as follows:

18-39 years – 39.4%

40-59 years – 43%

60 years and older: 17.6%.

Based on gender distribution, the percentage distribution of candidates is as follows:

Women – 26.4%

Men: 73.6%.

308 of the 990 candidates are representatives of 25 political parties.

In addition, there are 6,477 polling stations across the country for the Milli Majlis elections. Of these, 6,343 are permanent and 134 are temporary. 54 of these stations are located in the territories liberated from occupation. In addition, there are more than 42 thousand voters in these areas. In total, there are currently 6,421,073 voters in Azerbaijan.

It should also be noted that webcams have been installed in 1,000 locations, covering the entire country. All proceedings will be recorded by cameras.

112,749 local observers and 604 international observers will witness the election.
