Extremadura publishes new aid to promote “digital talents”

The Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) published this Tuesday three resolutions for the direct granting of subsidies to finance the development of Digital talent generation plan in 2024.

More precisely, the recipients among these aids are the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Badajoz; the Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Cáceres and the University of Extremadura through the Extremadura Research Institute of Applied IT Technologies (INTIA).

To this end, the General Secretariat for Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity of the Ministry of the Economy, Employment and Digital Transformationallocates 2,000,000 euros, with which it is planned to finance 870 training actions.

It is about courses and training activities which provide rapid-impact digital skills training to workers, students and graduates of low labor demand subjects (re-skilling), as well as promoting advanced training of graduates in digital subjects (up -skilling).

The Chamber of Commerce of Badajoz receives 800,000 euros with which it must carry out 312 training actions, the Chamber of Commerce of Cáceres is allocated 400,000 euros to develop 208 training actions and the University of Extremadura is allocated 800,000 euros with which 350 training actions must be carried out. .

Development of training actions

The 350 training actions that the University of Extremadura will develop will mainly focus on content related to Artificial intelligenceIts target audience will be current University students and graduates in science/technical subjects. The training will be in the form of expert courses of approximately 40 to 120 hours and a diploma from the University of Extremadura will be awarded.

In addition, INTIA will offer training on technological innovation to employees of the General Directorate of Digitization of the Administration of the Government of Extremadura.

In the case of Chambers of Commerce, the other 520 training actions remaining until reaching the 870 planned, will be focused on the development of training actions in basic, advanced and technological transversal skills.

The beneficiaries will be workers in need of reskilling and graduates of studies related to subjects with low employability and low labor demand.

The period of execution of the actions of the subsidized activities will extend from June 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025.
