The Ministry of Economy, Employment and Digital Transformation has started the process of approving a line of subsidies to finance a training and employment program for unemployed people in the craft sector, in the framework of which approximately participation of at least 100 unemployed and which envisages an investment of 1,800,000 euros.
The objective of this innovative program is to develop a training course obtain a professional certificate or content authorized by the Public Employment Service of Extremadura (SEXPE), with the aim of improving the employability of participating unemployed people and meeting the needs of the labor market in the artisanal sector.
The program will alternate learning and training with productive work in companies and artisan workshops linked to the training received.
The Secretary General of Employment, María José Nevado, stressed that “the program will contribute to generational change in the craft sector, the demographic and territorial challenge and equal opportunities”.
This helpline was designed as a new experience for a mixed training and employment program promoted by sectoral entities, with the capacity to manage and provide training, and with the participation of companies to offer professional experience to the unskilled unemployed.
The program will be executed by groupings formed by associations and by individuals and craft businesses registered in the Register of Artisans and Craft Businesses of the Autonomous Community of Extremadura.
In each project, the association will act as promoter entity responsible for its management and training, and the participating craftsmen and companies will act as employers to facilitate professional practice linked to training.
Participants will be hired and work from the start, receiving 75 percent of the interprofessional minimum wage (SMI), with the commitment that professional training for employment lasts at least 35 percent of the working day.
Projects must from the granting of the grantcomplete before December 31, 2025 and develop within the territorial area of Extremadura.
They will include a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 15 participants per project and these projects will have a duration of between 6 and 9 months.
THE student selection It will be carried out by the promoting organization and the companies participating in the project, SEXPE carrying out a prior pre-selection, and it will be guaranteed that the participation of women in the project is at least 50 percent, except due to the circumstances that arise in this process. participation in the indicated proportion is not possible, and this must be justified.
The grants will finance expenses linked to the provision of training, salaries and social charges linked to the hiring of student workers as well as the management and support of the project.
