“Extreme speed” in aid to Mira, Landete and the Sierra del Segura

The Government Council of Castile-La Mancha will approve this Tuesday the emergency works that will be carried out in the regional infrastructures affected by DANA in Mira, Landete and the Sierra del Seguraas President Page announced from Cuenca. The floods of October 29 caused extensive material damage in these areas, in addition to seven deaths: six in Letur and one in Mira.

Page said Castilla-La Mancha “rose to the occasion” during DANA, “unfortunately, first by sharing the pain with the affected families and neighbors, but also by rising to the occasion in the response”, which was “coordinated, silent, serene and sensitive”. “Now we also need to respond quickly,” he said. And he added: “We want to maintain a continuous commitment, without haste but without pause.”

Thus, the Governing Council will go “at full speed” to approve the main emergency works which affect regional infrastructure and “go at full speed”. Some of them are those at the Mira Health Center or those at the Landete and Mira bridges. And there will be seven more in the Sierra del Segura, in the province of Albacete. “We do not want to waste a minute responding to the work which, unfortunately, will take the necessary time, but it will not take long to start,” he assured.

Finally, the president thanked that during these “difficult weeks” with so many tragedies, the region “has not only provided a lot of effort to Letur, Mira and Villel de Mesa, but has also done its best to offer solidarity and support. .”, with “thousands and thousands of people who brought something” or who “even went to the Valencian Community to lend a hand”.
