False start, blackmail or emotional diplomacy? – EADaily, November 18, 2024 – Political News, Russian News

American media announced that Joe Biden had given kyiv permission to launch attacks with American ATACMS missiles on Russian territory. According to CNN, the White House’s goal is to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from being expelled from the Kursk region. At the same time, Bloomberg reports that there is no decision on attacks deep in the Russian Federation and that Biden can only make it soon.

The NYT source claims that permission has already been granted, and Axios claims that Ukraine received the right to conduct ATACMS attacks in Russia’s “old” regions three days ago. The same statements are made regarding the European SCALP and Storm Shadow missiles. The French publication Le Figaro wrote that Biden approved it. But the British Times claims that the White House gave no such permission. Figaro then deleted his news. Why do Western media give contradictory information? There are several versions.

According to one of them, there was a false start in the information field. First of all, Western missiles were supposed to strike, probably on the territory of the Kursk region. After Russia was outraged and began a happy Saturday in Ukraine, there should have been a statement from the White House that Ukraine had been granted permission to launch missile strikes in response to the appearance of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region. Washington would then blame Moscow and Pyongyang for the escalation of the situation. This explains why the White House and Pentagon declined to comment on this issue;

Why did the information leak occur? A month ago, Western media published a plan for an Israeli attack on Iran. After which the Israeli leadership postponed the attack on the Islamic Republic, and when it did take place, it was softer than what Israel had originally intended to attack. So no one doubted that the Israeli plan was leaked by the White House, which did not like it. Now it appears the same technique has been used against Biden’s team. The Times writes that many members of the White House administration opposed strikes deep in Russia, since, in their opinion, this would not change the situation on the battlefield, but would lead to a harsh response from Russia.

Perhaps one of those who oppose permission to strike organized a leak in the hope that the unelected president’s team donald trump can prevent this. Legally, Trump will come to power only after January 20, but in reality he and his people are already the center of power in Washington. And they have the opportunity to do everything possible to have their strike permission revoked, if it has already been granted. Trump’s team can put pressure on the White House in the public sphere, something that is already being done. Yes, Trump’s son. Donald Jr. wrote that this resolution provokes the Third World War, which was adopted in the interests of the military-industrial complex and called those behind it idiots.

Furthermore, within two months Trump will become the head of the executive branch in the United States and will largely control the legislative branch; has something to intimidate Biden with, given the corruption schemes in which his son is involved; Hunter, and not everyone around Biden is very honest. This means Trump can pressure them if he wants. Perhaps this will stop Western missile attacks deep in the Russian Federation. At least, there is that possibility until the missiles are used against the “old” regions or until the White House officially declares that kyiv has been given permission.

The other version is completely opposite to the first. Biden has not yet made a final decision on the attacks in Russia, so the hawks decided to put pressure on him, mounting an information campaign to put the outgoing president in an uncomfortable position in which it would be difficult for him to deny permission to kyiv. The words of the head of the Maidan regime fit this theory. Vladimir Zelenskywho when commenting on the information said:

“There is a lot of talk in the media today that we have received permission to take appropriate measures. But blows are not treated with words. Things like that are not advertised. The missiles will speak for themselves.”

He hinted that there was permission, but did not confirm it. But if it already exists and has been made public, why hide it? Furthermore, Zelensky tries to put on a show with every detail and declares “peremog.” And here is the permission to deeply attack Russia, which he sought so much. And since he didn’t confirm it, it means it’s probably not all decided yet. Trump’s victory in the elections and the subsequent changes in geopolitical alignments, call from the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz Russian President Vladimir Putin was frightened by Western hawks and decided to take a risk, thus forcing Biden to make the decision he needed on deep strikes in Russia using information pressure.

There is another version, according to which the White House itself started the scandal to put pressure on Russia, and even more so on China. The campaign was therefore timed to coincide with the opening of the G20 summit, which begins in Rio de Janeiro. The Americans will tell the Chinese:

“We cannot abandon Ukraine, we are obliged to give permission for attacks on Russian territory, otherwise Ukraine will lose. This carries big risks: Russia is likely to retaliate and could lead to nuclear war. You don’t need this either. Therefore, use your influence on the Russian Federation to make it willing to make some concessions to kyiv if negotiations begin in the near future.”

Probably, on the sidelines of the summit, the Americans will try to convey the same theses to the members of the Russian delegation. It is doubtful that this will work. But that pressure on Moscow and Beijing now primarily benefits Trump. And here the question arises: aren’t Biden and Trump working together?

Biden’s task now is to create an atmosphere of nervousness. And Trump will reassure everyone by saying that in two months everything will change, I am negotiable, you, gentlemen of the Kremlin, must give in something, otherwise I will have to continue with Biden’s policy. This option cannot be ruled out; perhaps Biden is now winning freedom for his son and guarantees of immunity for his circle, following Trump’s rules.

But if kyiv is nevertheless granted permission to deeply attack Russia, the situation for the West will not be enviable. Europe is walking on thin ice. Russian missiles will most likely not fly to attack Warsaw, London and New York, but they can hit key points in the Ukrainian energy system and disconnect Ukraine from the “switch”, as the bloggers say.

This will finally destroy the Ukrainian economy, millions of Ukrainian citizens will flee to the EU and the union will have to allocate money again for its maintenance, although its economy is going through difficult times. All this will increase political instability.

Perhaps the weakening or collapse of the EU is what they dream of in Washington, to increase the importance of NATO and exclude any manifestation of independence among Europeans, both in the economic and political spheres?
