Speaking at the Iravan Dialogue Forum yesterday, Nikol Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan was offered to sign the agreed articles in the draft peace agreement.

“The West really wants to prepare something between Azerbaijan and Armenia before the start of COP29 or at the event, and at best, some document under the name of a peace agreement. Pashinyan, in turn, plays on these expectations of the West and especially the United States. Azerbaijan says that this is impossible, it understood this before. That is why Baku offered to sign the general principles of relations, but now Pashinyan is talking about signing the agreed articles under the name of the Yerevan Peace Agreement. This is a message to the West that he is ready to sign. Azerbaijan does not build its policy according to a certain period and events. Therefore, there was a serious objection in the response of the Foreign Ministry. If a peace agreement is to be signed, it must bring peace. Various events are possible tomorrow. Therefore, all articles, clauses and provisions of the draft peace agreement must be agreed upon. Under no circumstances can double-headedness be allowed.”
