The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested the father of a Georgia school shooting suspect and charged him with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder and child abuse, the agency said.
“In cooperation with District Attorney Brad Smith, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Colin Grey54, in connection with the Apalachee school shooting. Colin is the father gray foal“, – says the statement issued.
They added that the suspect’s father was charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of child abuse.
The school shooting occurred on the morning of September 4. CNN, citing a law enforcement source, reported four dead and about 30 wounded. Head of local FBI office Chris Ozy He said the shooting was carried out by a 14-year-old student who was arrested.
The FBI also charged Georgia school mass shooting suspect Colt Gray with four counts of murder.
“Gray has been charged with four counts of murder in connection with… the Apalachee School shooting.” – indicated in the message.
The suspect is expected to appear before a judge on Friday where he will face additional charges.
As reported by the New York Times, citing authorities, US police found evidence that the suspect was interested in such crimes and was obsessed with the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, in 2018, in which 17 people were killed.
