Alberto Nuñez Feijóo went to see Giorgia Meloni after she said that his immigration model was the one he wanted for Spain. Asked at the press conference about Meloni’s plan to create concentration camps for immigrants in Albania and whether he would replicate this proposal in Spain, he replied that it was something that did not concern him because it was Italian domestic politics and that he would not comment on the matter. He likes it, he wants to implement it, but when a journalist puts him in front of the concrete, he hides so as not to face what his words and projects imply. Achieving power obsesses him so much that he is not able to explain what his words mean, being ashamed of what they mean.

I know it is a bit worrying to hear that as European citizens we are participating in the creation of concentration camps in 2024 and calling them detention centers for asylum seekers and refugees. But it is the same mode of psychological avoidance that occurred in the interwar period to call the Oranienburg concentration camp in Berlin a prison to avoid the truth to come. Giorgia Meloni has reached an agreement for the creation of these two concentration camps in the Albanian cities of Shengjin and Gjader, with a capacity of more than 3,000 people. The idea of the Italian fascist is to replace the forced internment in Albania, in a territory outside the EU, of all these migrants rescued in the Mediterranean by NGOs to screen asylum seekers and economic migrants to expel them to their country.
