The Government and the PP find themselves this week once again faced with a new confrontation, this time on the theme of housing. Last Thursday, the minister of the sector, Isabelle Rodriguezwarned the Community of Madrid that it would lose government funding if it did not apply the housing law to regulate prices.
“Whoever does not enforce the housing law will not have funding from the central governmentl”, assured Rodríguez in statements to ‘TVE’. “The law itself gives me extraordinary power to work with the communities that are committed to respecting it and who respond to their citizens”, said the minister, ensuring that those who do not apply the law will receive “less funds”.
This Saturday, the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Nuñez Feijóoresponded to Rodríguez’s warning during the event celebrating the “Day of PP Affiliates” in Aragon by announcing that he will propose an alternative law.
“In the coming weeks, we will present the entirety of the housing laws, and not the umpteenth error without solutions presented by the government.and also threatening regional presidents,” Feijóo announced.
The president of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, accused Isabel Rodríguez of “threatening” regional governments and not acting to solve the housing problem. “The Minister of Housing took care to threaten the CCAA, Fewer threats and more housing!“Azcón concluded.
