Feijóo calls for the resignation of Albares and the replacement of the ambassador to Venezuela

The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Nuñez Feijoosent a very harsh message against the Spanish government calling for the resignation of José Manuel Albares. In a press conference with the media with Antonio Tajani in Rome, the popular, who until now had only asked for explanations about the departure of Edmundo González from Venezuela due to the crisis that the country is going through, demanded that the ambassador to Venezuela be replaced and that the Minister of Foreign Affairs present his resignation from his post.

“My position is very clear. First, the ambassador to Venezuela must be replaced. Second, the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs must resign. And third, the President of the Spanish Government must give immediate explanations and assume that Spain is not equidistant between civilization and extortion and is not equidistant between democracy and dictatorship” Feijoo said.

In addition, he stressed once again that Venezuelan opponent Edmundo González won the elections and, therefore, “We cannot tolerate in any case that a Spanish embassy questions someoneFeijóo also rhetorically asked the vice-president of the government and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, if he “could imagine that two high-ranking officials of a dictatorship would enter an Italian embassy to coerce the elected president of a country”, “knowing from the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy and the Minister of Foreign Affairs”.

“The answer is obvious, as is my position: the Spanish government lied,” he added. The popular went further and assured that Spanish government “lied” and that “Spanish diplomacy cannot be at the service of a dictatorial regime.”

Feijóo also wanted to put on the table that Sánchez “hid meetings with Maduro from him” and that he is either for democracy or dictatorship: “The Spanish government has lied to us and He hid the meetings with Maduro from us“hid from us the coercion that the elected president of Venezuela suffered in our country.”

Regarding the position of the PSOE, the PP leader stressed that he does not understand why the PSOE voted against democracy in Venezuela: “I do not know the reasons of Sánchez or Zapatero. “If Sanchez chooses dictatorship, he will always have me in front of him.”Feijóo stressed that since its creation, they have demanded the publication of the minutes in Venezuela.
