The national leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, highlighted this Friday that the Generalitat Valenciana “is turning towards the greatest national catastrophe that we remember in our country”, he said about the effects of DANA.
Feijóo thus supported the management of President Carlos Mazón, called into question by the Generalitat’s response to the floods of October 29, which have already caused more than 200 deaths.
During a telematic meeting with the 11 regional barons of the PP, Feijóo praised the “exemplary” solidarity shown by the autonomous communities governed by his party to help the Valencians.
An attitude which, in his words, contrasts with that shown by the government of Pedro Sánchez, which, according to him, “resigned from its responsibilities” by refusing to declare a state of national emergency.
In this regard, he recalled that the two organizations which had to warn about the torrential rains and the overflowing of rivers which ended up flooding fifty villages in the province of Valencia, the National Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and the Hydrographic Confederation of Júcar (CHJ), depends on the Ministry of Ecological Transition.
