Felanitx will celebrate October 5 and 6 the first Felanitx folk festival. A proposal to bring popular culture, music, song and dance closer to citizens. This is the first of these initiatives that the municipality will experience and with which we want to visualize this type of culture.
The town hall felanitxer explains that the activities centered on the first weekend of October constitute a clear commitment to the root culture from which Felanitx draws its flag. The two days were divided into four large groups: Romanços, Bal de Bot, Folk Concert and to finish the end of tour concert from the album Espurnes and Coralls felanitxera Sea grimalt.
Anabel Villalonga and Mar Grimalt are two of the participating artists and, at the same time, promoters of this Festival. When presenting the competition, Villalonga said that “the idea came from talking with people. In Felanitx there is the group Do Natural and Mar Grimalt who work on this music, so the proposal and the idea of extending it to welcoming many types of people”.
The Mayor and Councilor for Culture, Catalina Solerdeclared that “it is a satisfaction to be able to celebrate this holiday, which we have already included in our electoral program. This festival aims to be the first among many and we want people to participate and enjoy it“.
Romanços will host this first edition of the Festival. It will be October 5 at 11:30 a.m. in the Constitution Square. Afterwards, parades will take place along the city’s main roads.

In the afternoon, it will be time to dance, on the Plaza de España with Abéniara And Es Gall de Sa Pastera. The beginning and the end will also have the presence of the xeremiers who, with their parades, will serve as a common thread between one stage and another.
