Fenavin will expand international buyers program to integrate domestic wineries

The president of the Provincial Council of Ciudad Real, Miguel Angel Valverde, has put forward the intention to extend the international buyers program of the National Wine Fair (Fenavin) to include wineries from all over Spain in future editions.

Valverde highlighted the importance of Fenavin as the most important Spanish wine fair in the world and expressed his commitment to maintaining his leadership. To this end, he stressed the need to improve aspects of salon management and professionalizationensuring its strength and ability to adapt to possible challenges, as reported by the Provincial Institution in a press release.

Valverde moved to Thailand and Vietnam accompanied by representatives of a dozen cellars in Ciudad Real as part of a commercial mission organized in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce and financed by the Provincial Council.

This unprecedented initiative represents the first time that wineries from the province have participated in Fenavin’s international trade missions, with the aim of strengthening their presence in emerging markets and establishing connections with international buyers.

Valverde explained that the inclusion of wineries and cooperatives in the province responds to the interest of promoting a direct and beneficial impact of Fenavin in the wine sector of the province.

He stressed, however, that the fair would not be limited to the wineries of Ciudad Real or Castilla-La Mancha, but would extend to producers throughout Spain, thus maintaining the national character of the National Wine Fair. “This year we are going to do it on a pilot basis, only with wineries from Ciudad Real, but in the coming years we hope to have wineries from other regions of Spain,” he commented.

With this strategy, as stated, the objective is to give all Spanish wineries the opportunity to participate in the international buyers program, thus strengthening Fenavin’s reach in strategic markets.

During their stay in Thailand and Vietnam, Valverde and the rest of the Ciudad Real delegation will hold meetings with embassies and international buyers interested in Spanish wine, with the aim of positioning Fenavin as an indispensable reference in the sector wine and to offer the Ciudad Real cellars a platform for global expansion.

The Provincial Deputation of Ciudad Real is thus committed to consolidating Fenavin as an event that represents not only the wine of Ciudad Real, but also all the wine potential that the country accredits.
