All the drivers on the grid are capable of driving fast, but the distances are marked in other aspects: “In the race itself, I think we all know how to drive the cars fast, but there are moments in the race where you have to use this aggressive approach, in order to gain a few positions at the start, in the first corner…”.
“There are other times in the race where you have to be smart and take care of the tires, the engine battery, the hybrid engine…“, explains the double Formula 1 champion.
Learning new things is also essential: “There are a lot of things that you have to constantly update, your approach to racing, so it’s like a game of chess that you have to play, basically.
