Nights in Andalusian hotel establishments increased by 0.6% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching a total of 5,125,378 nights and linking 43 months of growth, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
In hotels in the region 1.88% less remained tourists in October than the same month of the previous year, reaching 1,838,241 travelers. By nationality, 796,871 resided in Spain, or 43.35%, while 1,041,370 (56.65%) were foreigners. Compared to the previous year, travelers residing in Spain decreased by 9.6% and foreigners increased by 4.9%.
On the total number of nights in Andalusia1,661,890 were carried out by residents in Spain (32.42%), while 3,463,488 (67.58%) were carried out residents abroad.
THE average daily rate per room was located at 110.2 euroswhich represents an increase of 4.6% over one year. In general, prices increased by 5.03% compared to the previous year in Andalusia.
In total, in Andalusia an occupancy rate of 58.02% was reached in October and the hotel sector employed 43,453 people (i.e. an increase of 5.5% over one year).
By the autonomous communities, Canary Islands was the region with the highest occupancy rate per square, with 76.82%, followed by Balearic Islands (69.28%) and Madrid (64.63%), while on the opposite side were Ceuta(42.01%), Castile – La Mancha (42.96%) and Extremadura (43.09%).
Taking into account the total number of overnight stays recorded in Spain, the Balearic Islands were the community with the highest percentage of overnight stays (20.89%) in October, together with the Canary Islands (19.07%) and Catalonia ( 15.4%).
