FIFA and UEFA will inform the CSD to unblock the RFEF now

Spanish football will take place this Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. and at the headquarters of the Superior Sports Council (CSD) in Madrid, a key meeting. FIFA and UEFA take a step forward and will seek with the representatives of Spanish government and of Royal Spanish Football Federation unblock the situation experienced by the highest authority in Spanish football. The objective is that a timetable for the elections is already establishedthat there is definitely a clear path to clarify the situation within the RFEF.

FIFA and UEFA have requested a meeting with the Spanish government to unblock once and for all the situation of the Spanish Football Federation, entrenched for more than a year, and this meeting will take place this Wednesday, October 2, from 5 p.m. :00 hours, at the CDD headquartersas OKDIARIO learned.

The meeting is capital, vital for Spanish football. FIFA and UEFA representatives come to Madrid to unblock the RFEF once and for all. And they want measures, a clear commitment from the Spanish government that there will be transparency and joint work, therefore no more spokes will be put in the wheels in the process which should lead to new elections to the RFEF.

During the meeting this Wednesday in Madrid representatives of FIFA, UEFA, RFEF and the Spanish government will be presentalthough from the CSD, which is the highest sports organization at the government level, they dragged their feet at this meeting. In their place, or representing the Executive, will be those responsible for the Supervisory Commissionstandardization and representation of the RFEF, this body created a few months ago to try to standardize the federative entity and whose president is Vicente del Bosque.

FIFA and UEFA are going to the meeting so they can leave with the commitment that there will be elections to the RFEF. And if this is not achieved, if the Government does not tell them that this will be the case and that everyone will be rowing in the same boat, It will be them, FIFA and UEFA, who will start to take measures. That is, if there is no clear commitment from the government that they will work together, without interference, to have elections, FIFA and UEFA They threaten to leave aloneas the superior entities that they are in the world of football, and are taking action against the RFEF. The measures which are not known today are hypotheses, but which could lead to some form of sanction for Spanish football.

Thus, this Wednesday’s meeting is essential for the RFEF, and with it Spanish football, to emerge from the situation of continuous blockade in which it has been immersed for several years and, among other things, with interference of a Spanish government that wants to control and take over the Federation, which neither FIFA nor UEFA will ever accept.

In summary, the main intention of this meeting is that the CSD mark the steps to follow, with the support and approval of FIFA and UEFA, and that the Federation accomplishes them -which goes without saying-, but when he does, he is respected and the decisions taken are not canceled. Something that the Federation has had to endure in recent months.
