The International Football Federations Association (FIFA) is testing a football video support system (FVS). It could replace the current VAR system in the near future.
Oku.Az The ESPN channel reported about it.
The FVS system was first used at the 2024 FIFA U-20 and U-17 Women’s World Cups. Its essence is that team coaches can challenge the decisions of the VAR judge.
The head coach may ask the referee to review decisions twice during the game. If the head coach’s first request is unfair, he may not make the head judge’s second similar request. The main referees will not be able to go and look at the FSV cameras themselves, they will only do so if requested by the main coaches.
