Jakarta – Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Dito Ariotedjo provided the latest developments regarding the Indonesian National Team’s match against Bahrain in the continuation of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers, Asian Zone Group C.
It is known that the Indonesian National Team is scheduled to host Bahrain on March 25, 2025 in the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification for the Asian Zone, the eighth match of Group C. The match is planned to be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.
However, the Bahrain Football Federation (BFA) refused to play in Indonesia. They claimed to have received death threats from Indonesian netizens after receiving attacks online.
According to Dito Ariotedjo, with the guarantee given, AFC and even FIFA should not grant Bahrain’s wish to move the match location outside Indonesia. So, if Bahrain refuses to play, Indonesia will win WO.
“Yes, basically, regarding Bahrain, I and the PSSI General Chairperson have given an official statement that we guarantee Bahrain when playing in Indonesia,” said Dito Ariotedjo.
