Fifteen original restaurants for less than 30 euros, in Paris and Ile-de-France

A wind of change is blowing in the restaurants of Ile-de-France! The logic is different between Paris and its suburbs. In the capital, according to a study carried out by the city of Paris, the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Paris Urban Planning Workshop, which focuses on the period 2020-2023, the number of restaurants is slowly increasing (+ 1,2). % in three years), and it’s just fast food. But, in this tense context, the beautiful restaurants that are inaugurated seek to impress with unique formulas of their kind. Hence the emergence of restaurants that focus on a specific destination (Greece, Mexico, Great Britain, etc.), a particular diet (vegan or vegetarian) or a unique concept (such as mixing brasseries and gambling).

In the periphery, until now saturated with fast food restaurants, a more traditional and higher quality offering is being developed. Chefs with capes have already taken off: Charles Boixel (Café César, in Clichy), Emile Cotte (Baca’v, in Boulogne-Billancourt). Thierry Marx has installed his large popular restaurant, Le Bouillon du coq, in Saint-Ouen, which he has been waiting for for almost five years. While a Parisian institution of African cuisine (Chez Sabine) has set up shop in Pré-Saint-Gervais and a new team is once again enchanting La Mare aux canards, in Meudon. Here is our selection of good Ile-de-France restaurants offering lunch options for around twenty euros.

Baca’v

The beautiful Baca’v inn is located on the gray avenue of the Général-Leclerc, but the chef and owner of the place, Emile Cotte, decided to create the entrance on an adjacent street, the rue de la Ferme. Everything is said. Emile Cotte, who grew up in Limousin, in the large city of Saint-Junien, has not forgotten his rural origins (his grandparents were farmers and innkeepers). A lover of hard sports (he played rugby for a long time) and caressing sauces, the colossus perfected his love for the profession in beautiful restaurants such as Pré Catelan and Taillevent, before founding, in 2021, his own establishment: a first Baca ‘v. , in 5my district of Paris, to capture bourgeois cuisine with rare generosity. In 2023, he will return to this luxury bistro in Boulogne-Billancourt. The celebrations start at 29 euros for lunch (starter-dish formula), but on an area ten times larger: a large main room, another upstairs, an alcove that can be privatized with a long chestnut wood table. Enough to entertain a hundred people.
