The Junta de Andalucía has once again scheduled a series of activities throughout the autonomous community to commemorate Andalusian Flag Day, on December 4. As a central axis, there will be an institutional event that will have this year as its main protagonistThe actor Paco Tous.
In total, the Junta de Andalucía has scheduled fifty activities, among which, workshops, exhibitions and guided tours, in museums, archaeological sites, libraries, provincial archives and other institutions to explain the origins of the Andalusian flag and the symbology of its shield.
In the case of libraries, they have carried out a review of their documentary and journalistic collections from the first years of the struggle for autonomy, such as that of Cádiz, which includes in a shows the report on the raising of the flag at the capital’s city hall in 1936an event all the more significant as it was the last in which Blas Infante participated, according to a note from the Andalusian Government.
The Provincial Library of Cordoba has made a selection on the autonomist movement and the Andalusian Regional Assembly held in Cordoba in 1933, while that of Granada will present collections that explain the history and symbolism of the flag through the figure of the Father of the Andalusian homeland. , as well as the meaning of the demonstrations of December 4, 1977. The Malaga Library will focus on the assassination of Manuel José García Caparrós with an exhibition of the newspapers that reported the news. The cover includes allegories of work and science bearing a draft coat of arms of Andalusia which was ultimately rejected.
Archaeological sites
